First, I've created the .exe file which installs all the appropriate files in the needed folders, etc.

This works OK.

Now I want to also create, on the user's Desktop, a shortcut which deletes all the files created earlier and then the shortcut gets erased.

I've read some of the pointers in the forum relating to this subject; have also tried to figure it out for myself using the Create Shortcuts help but all without success. I get confused with all the paths available plus the choices at my disposal.

Could someone point me in the right direction but with concise directions, please?

By default, Uninstall shortcut is created if you switch on unistall option.
For example
Shortcut Path: DESKTOP
Shortcut Name: Uninstall
Path: INSTALL PATH
Filename: uninstall.exe

Thanks for your explanation. THAT is why I've been getting confused! I would have expected an available shortcut path to DESKTOP but there isn't one!

In the Project tab under the Uninstall heading there are only three controls: Path (showing a dropdown list but DESKTOP is not included) followed by the Uninstall Executable File box and finally the Uninstall Log Filename.

What you're saying above does not tie up with what I've got. I'm using the Trial version)

Switch to Install Script where you can find Shortcut - Create and Shortcuts - [List] commands.
So, you can add Shortcut - Create command for Desktop uninstall or insert an item in existing Shortcut - [List] command.
If something doesn't work then you can send your .ci project file to info@createinstall.com.
