We are signing create install packages with Microsoft signtool.exe. The install crashes as the signtool appears to corrupt the compressed files inside the archive. It looks like signtool appends info to the end of the exe. Any ideas? Thanks! We are using an older version of CreateInstall - might this be fixed in a new version?

I think you use a very old version of CreateInstall.
Download and try the latest version of CreateInstall. We sign our installation ourselves and they work.
Also, there are special options for the using signtool on Project tab - Setup Builder page.
