Subject: Is there a way to prevent a file from being uninstalled?
My installer checks for the existence of an INI file in the install directory, and creates it if it doesn't exist. However, it will likely be customized by the user at some point and really shouldn't be deleted with the rest of the application's files if the user does an uninstall. But since it's created during the installation, apparently it's listed among those files that will be deleted upon an uninstall. Is there any way to prevent a particular file from being uninstalled?
Insert the 'Uninstall Log On/Off' command with 'Off' parameter before creating INI file and then you can insert the same command with 'On' parameter to write other actions into uninstall log file.
